November 4 It Began
This Nightmare Must End:
The Trump/Pence Regime Must Go!

On November 4, the movement to demand that this nightmare must end, the Trump Pence Regime must go, began in the streets of two dozen cities all over the US. We're devoting this week's show to the resistance. Throughout the show, we'll be hearing audio clips from before or on November 4, to give you a feeling for why people were marching, and why it is so important.

Lillian Hellman's Watch on the Rhine

We'll also have a conversation with Susan Loewenberg, producer of an LA Theatre Works production of a play by Lillian Hellman, Watch on the Rhine, scheduled to open in 2018. The story begins in 1940. A German-born engineer and his American wife visit family in Washington, DC. They have been deeply involved in anti-Fascist activities in Spain and Germany. When something happens that imperils The Resistance, the family unflinchingly chooses to take great risks, and make great sacrifices for the fight against fascism, putting aside any consideration of "my life," "my career."

Watch on the Rhine is both a lesson and a challenge to all living today.
