Aloe Blacc

Aloe Blacc, soul artist, vocalist and songwriter, joins us in studio for music and conversation. He recently said, "My purpose for music is positive social change." He started as a hip-hop artist in the 1990s, and then transformed from rapper to singer, without discarding his hip-hop spirit and social awareness.

Since launching his solo career in 2003, Aloe Blacc has played all over the world. With "Wake Me Up," the 2013 mega-hit he sang and co-wrote for Swedish DJ Avicii and saw climb to #1 in 102 countries across the globe, Aloe Blacc proved himself a singer/songwriter with an irresistible power to capture the complexities of human emotion.

Sunsara Taylor arrested while protesting the anti-abortion law, HB2, in Texas

Sunsara Taylor on the Supreme Court abortion decision. The Supreme Court has overturned the horrendous Texas anti-abortion law HB2, rejecting its anti-abortion restrictions as an "undue burden" on women's ability to obtain an abortion.  This means that the remaining abortion clinics in Texas will be able to continue providing abortions to women, and this is a blow against a whole spate of similar anti-abortion restrictions which have been passed across the country. But this is not the end of the War on Women.
