Peter Sterne, Senior Reporter with the Freedom of the Press Foundation, joins us to talk about the case of Mexican journalist Emilio Gutierrez-Soto. On July 26, Gutierrez-Soto and his son Oscar were released from an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in El Paso, Texas. The two had been held in ICE detention for more than seven months, ever since being arrested and nearly deported by ICE agents on December 7, 2017.

We'll be talking about the political persecution of Memphis Journalist Manuel Duran Ortega (Left), an immigrant from El Salvador, who was arrested by Memphis police while covering an anti-ICE protest, and then turned over to ICE, which is now threatening him with deportation.
